Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at WPS Behavioral and Counseling Center, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Facilitating Group Therapy: Lead engaging group therapy sessions, fostering a sense of community among clients as they share experiences and support each other.
• Providing Individual Therapy: Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions focused on understanding clients' inner struggles, enabling them to develop viable coping mechanisms and actionable plans for their mental health journey.
• Creating Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to develop tailored, goal-oriented treatment plans that align with individual needs and aspirations.
• Monitoring Progress: Utilize various assessment tools to track client progress, providing valuable feedback to adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
• Team Collaboration: Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychologists and other counselors, to ensure comprehensive support and optimal outcomes for each client.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily focus on young adults aged 18 to 30, addressing a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges through our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). By applying your expertise, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing hope and facilitating healing within this dynamic age group that is often navigating transitional life stages.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for helping young adults make transformative changes in their lives.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in providing mental health services to young adults, particularly in a telehealth format.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practices and methodologies for treating mental health conditions.
