divh2Health Occupations Office Associate (Part Time)/h2pThe purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Health Occupation office. This position will give support to the Nursing, Medical Assisting, and Dental Assisting Programs. This position will require some evening hours./ppJob Responsibilities:/pulliPerforms specialized office support work, which requires the exercise of independent judgment, the application of technical skills and a knowledge of detailed or specialized activities related to the area to which assigned./liliEnters, edits and retrieves data and prepares periodic or special reports, using computer systems and following established formats and menus./liliProvides customer service to internal and external customers in person, via electronic means or by phone. Will re-direct inquiries as needed. Provides switchboard coverage as scheduled./liliPerform clerical duties such as organizing files, processing mail, preparing purchase requisitions and participate in the purchase of office and classroom supplies, monetary transactions and deposits as needed. Arranges meeting and makes room reservations./liliParticipates in Health Occupations events such as recruiting, orientation, pinning, career fairs, etc./liliPrepares and disseminates nursing class schedules./liliRecords, transcribes, and maintains minutes from departmental meetings./liliAssists with reaccreditation tasks as assigned./liliWorks and communicates professionally with others in a timely manner. Performs in a manner which benefits student learning./liliSupports the overall success of the District by performing other duties as assigned./li/ulpEducation and Experience: Completion of HS or equivalent required. Associates degree preferred. Previous office support experience preferred./ppAbilities:/pulliKnowledge of and ability to use good phone etiquette. Proficient at using the telephone system, messaging and general switchboard operations. Ability to handle moderately to highly confidential matters and materials with discretion. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to provide exceptional customer service skills./liliKnowledge of IVCCD processes and procedures, and the ability to comply./liliAbility to multi-task efficiently and in a timely manner. Ability to exercise good judgment and use critical thinking skills. Ability to work in an environment of shifting priorities and frequent interruptions./liliKnowledge of computer software programs to include: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Knowledge of and ability to work in computer systems designed for department work. Knowledge of office machines, such as copiers, printers and fax machines./li/ulpBase Wage: $12.86-$17.15 per hour - actual salary will be based on experience and education.
