Webber - Estimator - Heavy Civil

Estimator As an Estimator with Webber, you will play a key role in analyzing, preparing, and reviewing bids for heavy civil infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, and bridges. The position focuses on projects $50 million and larger across all delivery methods, ensuring competitive, accurate, and compliant cost proposals. Responsibilities Access cost effectiveness of products, projects, and services. Track actual costs relative to bids as projects develop, including commodity pricing before bid and during the buy‑out phase. Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss project details, formulate strategies, and resolve conflicts. Coordinate with engineers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Review plans and specifications for compliance and standard industry practices for utility and water/wastewater treatment plant projects. Manage all correspondence during the bidding phase, including plans, specifications, bid forms, RFIs, clarifications, and addenda. Administer full‑cycle take‑offs and pricing for assigned divisions, including subcontractor coordination and bid preparation when only 30–60 % of plans are available. Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors for your divisions using SmartBidNet software. Prepare sub‑bid analysis documents and electronic estimates, including preliminary cost information. Generate documentation and estimates for management planning, organization, and scheduling. Qualifications Experience in all delivery methods: Hard Bid, CSP, CMAR, CMGC, and Design Build. Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency with estimating software such as AutoCAD, Primavera, Timberline, WinEst, and similar tools. Moderate to high proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word. Strong independent work ethic and self‑motivation, managing multiple deadlines. Team player for collaboration during the pre‑construction stage. Valid driver’s license for occasional travel.
