The primary role of the Cardiac Sonographer is to obtain diagnostic recordings of cardiac ultrasound images, Stress Echos and Doppler hemodynamic data.**Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:****Job Specifications:****Education:*** High School graduate required.* Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited diagnostic medical Sonography and Cardiovascular Technician program and/or eligible for RDCS credential. Must be RDCS within one year of employment.**Experience*** Three years full-time experience in an equivalent position preferred.**License and Certifications:*** BLS certification required at hire.* Credentialed as RDCS/RDMS, or eligible. Must complete within one year of hire.**Prerequisite Skills:*** Demonstrates skill with scanning and reporting transthoracic, and stress echocardiography* Arrhythmia interpretation skills preferred.**Primary Customer Served (Age Specific Criteria):*** ☐ Infants: Birth to 1 year* ☐ Toddlers* ☐ Preschool Child* ☐ School Age Child* ☐ Adolescents: 12–18 years* ☒ Early Adults: 18–45 years* ☒ Middle Adults: 45–61 years* ☒ Late Adults: 61–79 years* ☒ Late, Late Adults: 80 years and upEmployees in this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care and/or service based on the physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area.**Patient Privacy (HIPAA Compliance):**Employees in this position have access to protected health information. The protected health information a person in this position can access includes demographics, date of service, insurance/billing, medical record summary information, and all other information that may be contained in patient records.
