Position Summary This service manager role blends deep automotive repair knowledge with strong people skills to manage customer relationships and coordinate between technicians and customers. The manager selects, coaches, leads, trains and supervises vehicle technicians while supporting parts purchasing and equipment procurement. Pay Range $20.60 – $30.90 per hour. Responsibilities Assign and schedule work duties to auto service staff according to individual skill level. Serve all automotive service needs of customers. Oversee hiring and training of an effective auto service team. Ensure high teammate retention. Maintain compliance with quality standards. Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention by managing all aspects of customer interactions, including proactive communication, issue resolution, and follow‑up. Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, feedback and concerns, fostering long‑term relationships and loyalty. Develop understanding of business operations, including paperwork, customer interactions, financial transactions and adherence to company policies and standards. Use this expertise to enhance efficiency and ensure seamless store operations. Drive sales through proactive customer interactions, thorough vehicle inspections and facilitation of communication between back‑end and front‑end staff. Provide valuable insights to front‑end team to facilitate product and service sales, optimizing revenue generation. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. 4 years of auto service technical experience. 1 year of service manager or service writer experience. Problem‑solving skills for customer complaints. Aptitude to manage inventory, scheduling and equipment maintenance. Capacity to lead and coach others. Strong teammate and customer communication skills. Ability to recruit and select technicians successfully according to store requirements. Willingness to continue education and remain current in automotive repair issues. Valid automotive driver’s license at all times for test driving customer vehicles.
