Ensures the proper notification and coordination of the multidisciplinary team.Maintains clean and orderly stations and monitor proper equipment.Answers all call lights in a timely manner. Answers phones courteously and directs the call to appropriate personnel.Provides support to nursing staff and other personnel in the daily activities of the unit and during emergency situations. Reports any information regarding changes in patient status or activities to the licensed nurseMonitors heart rhythm patterns of patients in the ICU and on remote telemetry monitors to detect abnormal cardiac rhythms or changes to patient's baseline rhythm.Reviews patient information to determine baseline rhythm, current rhythm and any prior variables to rhythm.Responds appropriately to all alarms and notifies licensed nurse. Measures cardiac intervals and documents. Records and documents cardiac rhythm strip per department policy.Minimum Education RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum Experience1 year experience in Monitor Tech preferredRequired Licensure & CertificationPCT certification or CNA license preferred, but not requiredCurrent BLS required.Monitor tech training with proof of successful completion (rhythm patterns).At City of Hope, our Culture of People First is the core principle of our belief in Good Health, Security & Stability, Work-Life Balance and Family-friendly benefits!
