Senior Accountant

Overview Senior Accountant (Exempt) Ethos Pet Brands is the parent company of Natural Balance and Canidae pet brands. We believe in the power of strong brands to connect with pet parents and create meaningful experiences. The Senior Accountant will work remotely and report to the Accounting Manager. The key responsibilities and duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Responsibilities Support timely monthly financial close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing accruals, performing bank reconciliations and maintaining operational management accounts Perform general accounting tasks across various areas such as cash accounts, prepaid accounts, taxes, travel and expenses, and other functions as assigned Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce redundancies, and strengthen internal controls through tools and automation Prepare and analyze financial reports, collecting, summarizing, and identifying trends in account information Collaborate across all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to ensure an accurate and timely month-end close Support audit activities and respond to inquiries in a timely manner Assist in gathering information for tax return preparation Provide professional, timely customer service when interacting with internal and external stakeholders Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent certification 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines independently Proficient computer skills including solid working knowledge of Excel Demonstrates ethical behavior and professionalism at all times Must be willing to submit a background check and pre-employment drug screening Must be eligible to work in the US Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in corporate/general ledger function or combination with public accounting Solid understanding of accounting concepts, financial statements, and GAAP Experience supporting cost accounting and manufacturing operations, with working knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and related variance analysis Knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus Collaborative team player with a proactive work style that enhances team-oriented environment Excellent communication skills, with ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels High level of motivation, flexibility, and meticulous attention to detail Experience in a manufacturing, consumer-packaged goods (CPG), or a private equity portfolio company Essential Functions Must be able to relay accurate information via multiple communication channels, including verbal and written mechanisms Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours Ability to operate a computer and other office technology Ability to observe details at close range Occasionally travel for work up to 5% of the time Benefits 401K matching Medical Dental Vision Short Term Disability Long Term Disability HSA & FSA Pet Insurance Life Insurance Employee Assistance Program Referral Program And more!
