Tool Maker/Assembler - Plastics Manufacturing - 3rd Shift

Work Shift : Third Shift – Manchester (United States of America) 10:45 PM - 6:45 AM Job Objective: Act as a skilled tooling assembly professional building and maintaining tools used in plastic extrusion manufacturing processes. Training on 2nd shift for a minimum of 3months (2:45pm to 10:45pm) is required. Safety is a core value and we strive for Zero Injuries of Any Kind (ZIAK). Responsibilities Successfully complete training and show expert proficiency in all applicable tooling department procedures. Comply with quality standard ISO/TS 16949, environmental standard ISO 14001, and BRC/IOP. Lead 5S activities aimed at improving organization, productivity, safety, and employee satisfaction. Ensure all tooling department activities are conducted safely and all safety concerns are addressed immediately. Demonstrate familiarity with metals, plastics, cleaning agents, and lubricants. Accurately complete scheduled tool builds, die preparation, and roll preparation in accordance with the production schedule. Investigate and resolve technical and/or quality issues concerning tooling, dies, or rolls. Support SMED (single minute exchange of dies) principles on the HTH line, including calendar roll changes, die changes, and other mechanical line preparation. Verify daily compliance with departmental procedures, company policies, and environmental management systems. Complete tooling department preventative maintenance assignments on time. Pursue continuous improvement opportunities for optimizing tooling methods and machinery. Move chemicals and/or waste, maintain storage areas, and package waste for storage and transportation. Inspect the facility and equipment regularly, notify appropriate personnel of incidents, and assist in emergency response activities if directed. Perform additional tasks as assigned. Qualifications Full‑time presence onsite in Manchester required. Certificate in a technical field or four years of equivalent experience in metalworking, plumbing, and comprehension of complex electrical and mechanical drawings. At least 2years of mechanical assembly experience (e.g., circuit board or electronics assembly). High School Diploma or GED. Computer literate (MS Word, Excel). Good eyesight, dexterity, and attention to detail. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and be cross‑trained in other functions as required. Certification in Hazardous Communications, Lockout/Tagout, and Forklift/hand‑jack within 30 days. Willingness to be trained in Environmental Management System. Excellent attendance required.
