JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Press Room Fabricator to join our Fabrication department. This is an all-around role at the heart of our press room, built for a hands-on craftsperson who can run a job from raw sheet stock to finished, welded assembly - operating our Trumpf fiber laser, setting up and running Trumpf press brakes, and welding (TIG and resistance/spot) to drawing specifications.

You will work from blueprints, weld symbols, and eDrawings-based work instructions to produce the precision sheet metal components and welded assemblies that form the backbone of every WMS product. The ideal candidate is cross-trained across laser, press brake, and welding processes - or has deep experience in two and is eager to round out the third. You will be expected to self-inspect your work and hold the line on quality at every step. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Laser Cutting: Operate the Trumpf fiber laser to cut sheet metal parts to program specifications; load and unload material, monitor cut quality, and perform program selection and basic machine setup per run sheets.
• Press Brake Forming: Set up and operate Trumpf press brakes to form sheet metal parts to print; select and install tooling, program or recall bend sequences, calculate or apply bend allowances, and verify first-article dimensions before running production quantities.
• TIG Welding: Perform TIG welding on steel components and assemblies per drawing specifications; set up, fit, and tack parts; monitor for warping and distortion; and self-inspect finished welds for quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Spot Welding: Operate resistance/spot welding equipment to join steel components and assemblies; set up parts using jigs, clamps, and fixtures; maintain consistent weld quality and inspect fusion results against drawing requirements.
• Steel Tube Processing: Cut and process steel tubing to length and specification using a CNC cold saw; ensure accurate setup, clean cuts, and proper handling of finished tube stock.
• Part Preparation & Finishing: Prepare and assemble parts prior to welding using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures; perform grinding, cutting, and cleaning operations as required to finish parts to specification.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret part drawings, work orders, weld symbols, and eDrawings-based work instructions to produce parts that conform to engineering specifications without requiring rework.
• Quality & Inspection: Inspect parts and assemblies at each process stage for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and conformance to spec; identify and escalate non-conformances before parts advance downstream.
• Equipment & Housekeeping: Maintain assigned equipment in proper working order; keep work areas clean, organized, and 5S-compliant; notify supervision of any tooling wear, machine faults, or material issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Fabrication Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in a sheet metal fabrication / press room environment, with demonstrated proficiency across multiple core processes (laser, press brake, and welding).
• Laser Cutting: Experience operating CNC fiber lasers (Trumpf preferred); able to load programs, set up material, monitor cut quality, and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Press Brake Forming: Working knowledge of bend allowances, tooling selection, and forming sequences; Trumpf press brake experience strongly preferred.
• Welding Skills: Hands-on experience with TIG welding on steel, and with spot (resistance) welding; able to set up, fit, tack, and weld to drawing specifications.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and work from part drawings, weld symbols, and CAD-based work instructions; eDrawings experience a plus.
• Attention to Detail: Strong quality consciousness and self-inspection habits - a bad part here is a problem for every department downstream.
• Dependability: Strong attendance, punctuality, and follow-through; able to work independently and keep pace with production goals.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in welding, machining, or metal fabrication preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role is performed in WMS's Londonderry, NH manufacturing facility. The following physical demands are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

• Regularly required to stand and walk throughout the shift; use hands to handle, feel, and manipulate parts and tooling; reach, bend, stoop, and crouch as required by the work.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.; occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs., with team-lift protocols in place for heavier material and sheet stock.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus - essential for weld inspection and part verification.
• Exposure to loud noise levels from fabrication equipment - hearing protection required and provided.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, metal fumes and airborne particles, welding arc and UV light, and laser operation - appropriate PPE required and provided at all times.
• PPE required includes safety glasses, welding helmet (as applicable), steel-toed footwear, hearing protection, and gloves appropriate to the task. All required PPE is provided by the company.
