Our client, an American multinational clothing and accessories retailer company, is looking for a product developer for their New York, NY location. Responsibilities include supporting the product development team and serving as an interface with the cross-functional team. The role involves entering, compiling, and analyzing costs for all styles and highlighting discrepancies. It also supports sampling processes and protocols by tracking concept samples and working with mills and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of samples. The product developer manages time and action calendars to ensure calendar deadlines are met, supporting related processes/systems as appropriate. Daily communication with the overseas sourcing team is required. The role builds strong cross-functional partnerships with design, merchandising, and planning. The product developer role supports the client's specialty adult apparel, including skirts, dresses, wovens, knits, and sweaters. It is an assistant-level position supporting two managers during Marissa Emanuel's maternity leave. The role provides day-to-day support from the development stage through bulk production and store delivery.
Requirements include proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Familiarity with product development systems (Centric PLM, Trade Stone, Bamboo Rose, costing tool) is helpful but not required. Time management, communication, and the ability to seek help when needed are key skills. Two to three years of experience in a corporate environment is preferred. No specific education requirement.
