It's all here and it's exactly what going further is all about.Position SummaryUnder general supervision of the Sr. Manager of Financial Reporting, the Financial Reporting Accountant prepares periodic financial statements.Major Tasks and ResponsibilitiesAssists in the preparation of accurate and timely SEC filings including supporting work papers and binders.Interacts with other departments and external auditors to ensure complete, accurate, and timely filings.Performs research on GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including assessing the impact on accounting and financial reporting processes.Assists with financial statement preparation and month end close.Assists with the preparation of management, audit committee and other reports.Produces ad hoc analysis and special projects.Performs other related duties as assigned.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting or finance, with CPA or actively working towards CPA2+ years of finance/accounting experience including SEC reporting experienceAccounting knowledge of GAAP & SEC technical reporting requirementsBig 4 or large regional public accounting experience preferredAdvanced Microsoft Office skillsExperience in a transportation organization preferred but not requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong organization skills with astute attention to detailA strong work ethic and willingness to perform hands-on dutiesBenefitsAt Saia, your success is our success!
