Position Description & Duties:

Genuinely and friendly welcomes our guests at the door by making eye contact. A Host will seat guests in a timely and well-paced flow as to not overwhelm fellow staff members. Will restock coloring sheets, menus, and other items, write daily specials on the black board and perform other miscellaneous tasks.

All hosts must be capable of receiving cash and being accurate in giving back change, as well as following computer procedures for credit cards. Can complete ‘to go’ orders and helps assemble everything needed while confirming exact orders are sent out. Each person must be capable of memorizing our current menu and daily specials. Maintains an attractive Specials Board.

Communicates with and assists servers to maintain service efficiency and ensure guest satisfaction. May assist wait staff in serving tables with beverages and deliver food when requested.

Removes dirty dishes and utensils from tables between courses and clears tables after guest leave. Will re-set dishes for cleaned vacated tables. A host will assist in returning dishes, silverware, glassware and utensils to the dishwashing area if needed. May assist dish washers if needed. Scans floor consistently and will pick up or vacuum as needed. Closing side work and daily cleaning duties are finished efficiently and completely.

Requirements: (Depending on Experience wages are $15.00/hr) (tips can be up to 45.00/day)

EDUCATION: Some High School. Must be able to communicate well to a variety of ages.

EXPERIENCE: No previous food service experience required.

PHYSICAL: Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to five hours in length, and to lift, bend and stoop. Must have the ability to frequently lift and carry bus tubs, trays and other objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

The Host is the first person our guests meet and the last as they leave. As such, they are important in presenting our restaurant philosophy and hospitality to new guests.
