Position Overview

A leading manufacturing facility in La Vergne is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations, improve equipment reliability, and drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, managing preventive maintenance programs, reducing downtime, and supporting plant productivity goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance, reliability engineering, CMMS systems, and leading maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily maintenance activities to support plant safety, quality, and production goals
• Drive equipment reliability and uptime improvements using data-driven decision-making
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
• Manage and optimize the CMMS system, including preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, asset records, and maintenance planning
• Monitor maintenance KPIs including MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) and MTTR (Mean Time to Repair)
• Manage spare parts inventory and establish critical spare parts strategies
• Control maintenance spending and support cost reduction initiatives
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing teams
• Oversee repairs, upgrades, installations, and modifications of production equipment and facility systems
• Promote and maintain 5S standards throughout maintenance areas
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
• Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
• 3–7 years of experience in maintenance leadership, reliability engineering, or manufacturing operations
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Experience using SAP PM or other CMMS maintenance management systems
• Experience with root cause analysis tools such as:

  • Fishbone Diagrams
  • FMEA
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs
• Strong understanding of maintenance budgeting, cost control, and inventory management
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments
• Knowledge of OSHA, safety, and environmental regulations

Preferred:

• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience driving reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience is a plus
