Geriatric Psychiatrist Opportunity in Troy, NY
A respected behavioral health program in Troy, NY is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Geriatric Psychiatrist to provide care in a dedicated inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team delivering specialized, patient-centered care for older adults.
Position: Physician – Psychiatry (Geriatric) Location: Troy, NY Practice Setting: Inpatient Geriatric Psychiatry Unit
• Full-time inpatient role on a 20-bed geriatric psychiatry unit
• 1:6 weekend call rotation
Work alongside a dedicated Clinical Coordinator/Social Worker (geriatrics-trained)
Join a multidisciplinary care team (therapists, counselors, NPs, case managers)
Stable, well-supported behavioral health program
Opportunity to focus on complex geriatric psychiatric care
Strong emphasis on team-based, patient-centered care
• Established behavioral health program with inpatient services
Dedicated geriatric psychiatry unit (20 beds)
Integrated care approach addressing medical, psychiatric, and social needs
Access to system-wide behavioral health resources and leadership support
Provide inpatient psychiatric care for geriatric patients
Assess, diagnose, and manage complex psychiatric conditions in older adults
Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams
Participate in shared weekend call rotation
Coordinate care with system-level behavioral health leadership
Ensure high-quality, evidence-based patient care
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry – REQUIRED
Active New York License (or eligible) – REQUIRED
DEA License – REQUIRED
Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry – HIGHLY PREFERRED
Clean malpractice & license history – HIGHLY PREFERRED
Must disclose visa requirement status (No visa support available)
NPDB Self-Query (within 30 days) – REQUIRED
Local candidates within 30 miles cannot be considered
