RN - MedSurg


Job Details:


• Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend rotation, on-call, or holiday requirements
• Shift times range from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM depending on daily schedule
• Work in a clinic setting with 13 rooms averaging approximately 50 patients per day
• Assigned to specific general surgery providers and rotate through clinics
• May float to Good Hope Clinic, East Mequon Clinic, and Port Washington Clinic with advance notice - farthest float location is approximately 20 minutes away
• Primarily responsible for in-basket management including phone triaging, medication refills, answering portal questions, FMLA and prior authorization paperwork
• Assist with rooming patients including vitals, medication reconciliation, and medical history documentation
• Provide pre/post-surgery patient education
• Assist with in-office procedures including incision and drainage for abscess and colorectal scopes
• Work with adult patients only covering pre/post surgeries including gallbladder, appendectomies, colorectal, colon, G-tube, hernia repairs, and bariatric procedures
• Minimum 1 year of clinic experience required
• Ambulatory EPIC experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Scrub color must be any solid color, professional with no graphics, logos, or designs
• Up to 5 days of department orientation provided
• Free parking available on site

This facility is a clinic building connected to a hospital and houses several specialty clinics within it. The surgical clinic operates 13 rooms and sees approximately 50 patients per day across various general surgery specialties. The unit culture is highly supportive, with a collaborative team that includes medical assistants, registered nurses, advanced practice providers, patient service representatives, and surgery schedulers working together to provide comprehensive patient care.
