Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical - Pediatric

Pediatric Medical-Surgical Nurse

Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in a Medical-Surgical setting, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and organizational policies. Deliver patient-centered care that promotes recovery, comfort, and safety for children across various age groups.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments on pediatric patients and conduct reassessments according to policy.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient response and evolving needs.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment, pain management, and post-discharge care, including assessing learning needs.
• Assist physicians with procedures requiring technical and manual skills, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, including Nurse Managers and physicians, to coordinate interdisciplinary care.
• Document all patient interactions and care activities accurately, ensuring compliance with standards and policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active nursing license appropriate for pediatric care.
• Demonstrate experience in Medical-Surgical nursing, preferably with pediatrics.
• Possess strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical skills.
• Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
• Knowledge of psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs relevant to pediatric patients and families.
