As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing and maintaining medical equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures. You will assist with surgical patient care under the direction of an RN or physician, ensuring that each procedure runs smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include:

• Verifying and preparing supplies, equipment, and instruments for surgical procedures
• Participating in the timeout process before every surgical case
• Maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards
• Anticipating the needs of patients and surgeons
• Preparing medications under supervision and understanding routine drugs used intra-operatively
• Inspecting and tagging defective equipment, ensuring proper documentation
• Collaborating with the OR team to update and maintain preference cards
• Demonstrating professionalism and respect within the surgical team

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent clinical surgery training
• Current CPR certification and DORA registration
• 1 to 3 years of previous surgery experience in at least two specialty areas preferred
• Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Visual and audio acuity to perform essential job functions
