Institutional Research Specialist

Coordinate the daily operations of the Institutional Research Faculty Evaluations. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position. Responsible to distribute, collect, record, categorize all research material. Maintain institutional data and records. Respond to client requests and assess informational needs. Import faculty rosters and generate labels and reports for research and evaluation studies. Coordinate and establish workload priorities, delegate and provide work direction to part-time employees for daily operations of the Institutional Research Faculty Evaluations. Identify, develop, and maintain a variety of research materials and analysis to staff and clients in support of college planning, resource allocation, and decision making efforts. Design instruments for data collection, scan, and process survey forms. Assist with the development and preparation of written reports as required by staff and clients. Use specialized software and equipment to design instruments for data collection. Orient staff in the use of software and equipment. Serve as leader on projects (e.g., scanning, survey printing, mailing, etc.). Provide departmental assistance in the delegation of work load for clerical support. Advise superior regarding procurement requirements and initiate purchases. Ensure adequate materials have been ordered and identify appropriate vendors and supplies. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications 1.Associate’s Degree three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skill, and abilities. NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application. 2. Highly effective (written and oral) communication skills. 3. Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 4. Experience providing effective customer service. 5. Extensive ability to maintain confidentiality. Special Conditions 1. This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
