Special Needs Program Teacher/Counselor

Special Needs Counselor working with and teaching young adults with disabilities.

• Part-time starting at $14.50 per hour, 5 to 6 1/2 hour shifts, 3-5 days per week (Monday-Friday) 11:00a or 12:00p to 5:00p. working 20-30 hours per week.
• Great job for someone who is not looking for a full 40-hour work so they can attend a school or be with family more.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching lessons in various subjects that you are familiar with as well as teaching life skills that will help our participants become more self-sufficient.
• Encourage activities that promote physical fitness and well-being.
• Staff also helps and supervises individual personal goals which are specific to each student.
• The staff takes turns preparing daily light lunches. and helps students with daily chore assignments.

Requirements:

• High School Graduate or higher.
• Experience with people with disabilities.
• Must be someone who has empathy, compassion and patience.

Murray Greenhouse Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the furthering of education for those adults with disabilities. The Murray Greenhouse is a safe place for intellectually disabled young adults to learn independence and life skills, as well as having a social outlet to enjoy themselves and intermingle with others with the same challenges.
