Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting financial reporting for a complex, multi-location organization. This position is responsible for overseeing core accounting activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting scalable processes across a geographically dispersed operation. This position is direct hire / permanent placement and will pay between $65K and $85K annually.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple business units and locations

• Perform detailed general ledger analysis, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Support timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes in a high-volume transaction environment

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies

• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide clear explanations to finance leadership

• Support accounting for large asset portfolios, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals

• Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of schedules and documentation

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and consistent processes nationwide

• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting accuracy

• Provide guidance and review work of junior accounting staff as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Skills and Competencies

• Experience supporting a multi-entity or multi-location organization

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely

• Comfort working in a growing or evolving organization

• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and problem-solving mindset
