Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility in Lake Success, NY 11042. This is a 4+ month contract assignment (Possibility of conversion or extension) and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Lake Success, NY 11042

Travel: Syosset, NY 11791 (every Tuesday and the 4th Wednesday of each month to the Syosset location)

Job Type: 4+ months (Possibility of extension or conversion)

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:45am - 3:45pm

Pay Range: $21-$23.40/hr. Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.

Specific Duties

Triaging patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, pharmacy, medication lists, setting up injections as needed, Ultrasound machine set up, phlebotomy when needed, specimen collection, preparing patients for examinations, as well as cleaning down and stocking exam rooms. You will also handle any paperwork when necessary and stay on top of the providers fax folder- incoming faxes, send out faxes, etc.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required, graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Current medical assistant certification preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
• Experience: 1-2 years of medical assistant experience in a physician practice.
• Experience obtaining and documenting vital signs, patient histories, phlebotomy, EKGs, injections, specimen collection and preparing patients for examinations.
