Shifts are 5 days a week for 8 hours, primarily covering pre and post-procedural care. There will be 2 late shifts each week, with an adjustment of start and end times to accommodate end-of-day add-ons. Late shifts typically conclude around 8 PM, but most days will end earlier. No weekend or holiday coverage is required. Travel nurses will float within the service line as needed but will not float between facilities. Call is not mandatory, but there may be opportunities to pick up extra shifts. The average daily census is approximately 80 procedures, with an expected number of visits around 47 per day. The unit includes 5 procedure rooms. Patient care is focused on adults and geriatrics needing GI screening procedures and management of GI complaints. The expected patient ratio experience is 1:3. Nurses will work alongside a supportive interdisciplinary team, including respiratory, phlebotomy, radiology, and pharmacy services. Special procedures performed on this unit will include complex GI diagnostics and interventions. Candidates with PACU experience are welcome as the role involves prepping patients and recovery rather than intra-procedural care.
