Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU - Augusta, GA - Full Time

Job Summary Registered Nurse – Evening shift (36 hours per week, 10:30 am – 11:00 pm). Work at Wellstar MCG Health Medical Center. Provides quality nursing services by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. Serves as the frontline representative of the patient care team. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions Monitor, examine, and evaluate patients’ conditions; assist with care plans and take appropriate actions to promote short‑ and long‑term outcomes and wellbeing. Deliver care plans as outlined, applying independent judgment where appropriate; collaborate and communicate patient care plans with other staff as needed. Prioritize and coordinate optimum daily patient flow and patient experience; deliver safe and effective care according to policies and procedures. Maintain appropriate documentation of patient assessment, changes in condition, care delivered, education provided, and any incidents or exceptions related to standards of care or compliance with hospital policy. Listen to patient concerns, probe in depth to understand needs, and respond in an appropriately timed manner; serve as an educational resource for patients and families on health‑related issues. Communicate necessary patient information to family, licensed care providers, and other staff; embrace patient‑ and family‑centered care to maintain satisfaction among patient, family, staff, and physicians. Seek opportunities to improve the work environment and processes; contribute ideas to help identify solutions and support change implementation. Support and contribute to improvement initiatives aligned with achieving better patient quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, staff satisfaction, and organizational financial performance. Maintain professional licenses and certifications; complete all required training; self‑manage training and development opportunities; stay current with research literature and industry best practices. Foster the growth and development of other nurses through mentorship and preceptorship; contribute to a positive and supportive work environment; adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and professional standards. Act with professionalism; embrace shared governance principles; demonstrate integrity; hold self and others accountable for practice by participating in the peer feedback process; promote the nursing profession and assist with recruitment of nurses. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education Associates in Nursing or Diploma (Nurse). Bachelors in Nursing preferred. Required Minimum Licenses and Certifications All certifications required upon hire unless otherwise stated: BLS – Basic Life Support (Instructor or Basic) or ARC‑BLS – American Red Cross Basic Life Support.
