We are currently seeking aBanquet Manager
This position will supervise the daily operations of the Banquet area/team to achieve outstanding customer satisfaction and service at the historical Hilton President. The Hilton President is a shining example of Kansas City's downtown renaissance. We are the official hotel of the Power & Light Entertainment District.
QUALIFICATIONS- Two years of banquet or event management/supervisory experience is required.
- Hotel experience preferred.
- Hilton experience preferred.
- Supervise and direct the Banquet associates including supervisors, captains, servers, and housepersons.
- Interview, recommend hiring, schedule, train, develop, empower, coach and counsel, resolve problems, provide open communication, recommend and conduct performance and salary reviews, recommend and compose discipline and termination, as appropriate.
- Supervise the daily operations of the Banquet area (order and maintain supplies, review set-up and food and beverage preparation and service) to ensure compliance with Banquet Event Orders, safety regulations and procedures and to ensure an optimal level of service, quality and hospitality.
- Meet with the customers to review the Banquet Event Order and to review any changes, issues and/or problems to ensure delivery of a quality product.
- Calculate and review the Banquet checks ensuring accuracy and present the check to the customer for signature to ensure payment.
- Calculate and prepare the daily service charges and payroll ensuring accurate, prompt reporting.
- Monitor and control the maintenance/sanitation of the Banquet areas and equipment to protect the assets and ensure quality service.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
ABILITIES
- Requires a working knowledge banquet/catering food and beverage services, policies and operations.
- Knowledge of audio/visual equipment.
- Ability to compile facts and figures in accordance with established procedures.
- Must be willing to pitch-in and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Knowledge of hotel operations, security and safety programs, personnel and labor relations, and local liquor laws.
- Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals.
- Able to set priorities, plan, organize, and delegate.
- Written communication skills to be concise, well organized, complete, and clear.
- Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
- Command of the English language both written and verbal.
- Ability to be highly visible and interact with clients and operational departments during weddings and other events.
- Ability to anticipate problems and respond proactively.
