Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Medical Telemetry travel contract on a night shift Acute Care unit serving cardiopulmonary and neuro overflow adult patients.

Details

• Acute care unit (9 East) in a hospital setting, serving cardiopulmonary adult patients and neuro overflow adult patients
• 28-bed unit with cardiac telemetry and continuous pulse oximeter capabilities
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• Unit is supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Night shift: 18:30–07:00
• Up to 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period
• Holiday coverage required based on department needs
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OK RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• BLS certification required (must be AHA-issued)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
• Driver's license required for consideration
• 2 professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include implementing and monitoring patient care plans, recording and communicating patient condition, coordinating care across disciplines, and carrying out physician and nursing orders
• Assists with coordinating patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Must be able to apply critical thinking and decisive judgment with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
• Standard precautions and appropriate PPE must be followed at all times
• Local candidates are eligible to apply; however, a radius rule is in place that may affect the pay rate depending on distance from the facility
