Overview
Medical Social Worker – School-Based Mental Health, Thornton, Colorado. This is a travel assignment starting 09/28/2026 for a full-time, 1.0 FTE position on a high school campus with in-person, 5x8 day shifts. Weekly pay ranges from $2,529 to $2,694 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide school-based mental health services for students on IEPs at the high school level
- Implement evidence-based interventions addressing mild–moderate disabilities and affective/mental health needs
- Collaborate with teachers, case managers, students’ families, and other school staff to support IEP goals and monitor progress
- Conduct psychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and document services and progress notes per school policy
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to service minutes, ensuring alignment with student needs and timelines
- Maintain compliance with district and state requirements, adapt services to campus schedules, and promote student well-being on campus

Requirements
- Colorado Department of Education credential in hand
- Experience serving students with mild–moderate disabilities and mental health needs preferred; SPED experience preferred
- Ability to deliver in-person, school-based mental health services on a high school campus
- Core skills in school-based mental health interventions and IEP implementation/monitoring
- Fingerprinting through Colorado CBI and FBI required; completion ASAP after contract signing
- Eligible to work in the United States and meet district compliance requirements
