Job Overview The role assists in overseeing public access during LPAC events, providing direction to guests, volunteer ushers, and completing customer service functions under the General Manager’s supervision. Responsibilities Assist the Department with customer relations, guest wayfinding, and enforcement of show-related policies (photography rules, cell phone usage, assigned seating, etc.). Assist guests in locating assigned seats, scanning tickets, and providing ticketing assistance. Maintain a professional, customer-focused presence, greeting patrons, directing them throughout the facility, and escalating concerns to the House Manager. Maintain punctuality and a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and events. Assist in handling ticket scanning/tearing. Enforce House and show-specific rules and protocols for guests. Maintain knowledge of upcoming shows and events; direct patrons to additional information. Assist in concessions before the show and during intermission as needed. Perform light clean‑up after the show, including recycling, trash pickup, lobby vacuuming, and returning lost items to the House Manager. Assist with serving catered food and clearing tables during catered functions. Perform related work as required. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution; Six (6) months of customer service experience and/or experience working special events and/or theatre events; A valid State of Florida Driver’s License. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree in Theatre Design/Technology, Fine Arts, or a closely related field. Physical Requirements The ability to drive and operate a personal or City vehicle intermittently throughout the work day or work week. The ability to exert heavy physical effort in very heavy work, which may involve some combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and/or lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials in excess of 50 pounds. The ability to coordinate eyes, hands, and feet to utilize and operate office tools, equipment, and machinery, and to handle, sort, and organize documentation. The ability to perceive and differentiate audio and/or visual cues or signals, and to perceive and differentiate depths, and/or textures. The ability to inspect items for proper length, width, and shape; and to visually read various information. The ability to differentiate between colors or shades of color. The ability to effectively communicate with City employees, stakeholders, and the general public verbally and/or in writing as needed. The ability to apply principles of rational systems, interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form, and exercise independent judgment to adopt or modify methods and standards. The ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in situations involving the evaluation of information against sensory, judgmental, measurable, verifiable, or subjective criteria. The ability to coordinate, manage, strategize, and or correlate data and/or information, and to exercise discretion in determining actual or probable consequences, and in identifying solutions or alternatives. The ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate numbers, decimals, and percentages. Performance may involve exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as cold, heat, rain, sunlight, humidity, noise, dirt, odor, and/or fumes.
