Position Summary

The Division Order Supervisor oversees the division order department, ensuring accurate title ownership determination and proper distribution of revenue to interest owners. This role is responsible for managing a team of division order analysts, maintaining compliance with state regulations, and supporting land, operations, and accounting teams throughout the asset lifecycle.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of division order analysts; assign workloads and set departmental priorities
• Review and approve division orders, new well setups, and transfer orders prepared by the team
• Oversee the calculation and verification of decimal interest for working interest, royalty, and overriding royalty interest owners to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable state statutes and lease terms
• Manage the setup and maintenance of owner accounts in the revenue distribution system
• Review title opinions and communicate with land, legal, and accounting departments to resolve curative issues
• Coordinate with the revenue accounting team to ensure accurate month-end closes and proper revenue distributions
• Maintain departmental procedures and controls; identify and implement process improvements; provide audit support as required
• Respond to escalated owner relations inquiries from royalty owners, working interest partners, and internal stakeholders
• Monitor regulatory changes across operating states and update internal practices accordingly
• Assist with due diligence for acquisitions and divestitures, including title review and interest owner data migration
• Manage suspense and escheat process, and provide ownership reports for quarterly reserve reports

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 7 years of division order experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
• Proficiency with land and revenue systems (BOLO experience is a plus)
• Strong working knowledge of oil and gas title, conveyancing instruments, and interest calculations (experience in Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma is a plus)
• Familiarity with royalty regulations, lease royalty provision, escheat, and payment statutes in major producing states

Preferred

• Certified Division Order Analyst (CDOA) designation through NADOA
• Experience supporting A&D transactions
• Exposure to both operated and non-operated assets

Skills and Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
• Excellent computer skills (using excel, PowerBI, along with other databases and software) to support A&D, data quality reviews, and to enable efficient work flows for the team
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex title and payment issues to non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across teams
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
