Title
Med-Surg/Telemetry Nurse - Mixed Acuity

Schedule
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts in 6 weeks

Assignment Details
- Length: 13-week assignment
- Hours Offered: Up to 36 hours/week

Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years acute care nursing experience required
- License: NC or Compact license pending
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS (preferred: NIHSS)
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Vent experience preferred but not required; unit will support/train

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a medical-surgical/telemetry setting.
- Monitor and assess patients' needs, implementing appropriate interventions.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to plan and coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families about health maintenance and disease management.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record.

Compliance / Notes
- Orientation: 24 hours
- RTO after booking is not allowed and must not be worked out onsite; auto-approval for up to 7 days RTO (not on holidays).
- No RTO allowed during the first week (orientation).
- Candidate must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
- Fatigue policy: Cannot work more than 5 days in a row or more than 60 hours in a week.
- Pre-start requirements: Completion of modules within 8-10 hours and provision of two supervisory references from the past 12 months highly preferred.
- Scrubs: Not provided; colors accepted are white or navy blue.
- Vaccines: COVID-19 vaccine not required; Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed).
