Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientist

Overview The Contra Costa County Health Services Department offers a Supervising Clinical Laboratory Scientist position at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) in Martinez, CA. This role will oversee the Blood Bank, Urinalysis, and Coagulation departments. Responsibilities Plan staff assignments and schedule daily work for CLSs. Assist in preparing quality assurance and competency reports. Investigate and resolve instrumentation and procedural issues. Support peer review report investigations and troubleshooting. Design and manage competency programs for new and existing staff. Collaborate with Information Technology staff to maintain the Laboratory Information System. Maintain and update Laboratory Policies and Procedures. Required Competencies Critical Thinking and analytical problem solving. Delivering results and meeting organizational goals. Minimum Qualifications Valid and unrestricted Clinical Laboratory Scientist license issued by the California Department of Public Health. At least three (3) years full‑time experience as a licensed senior scientist in a clinical laboratory performing varied clinical tests and analyses. Completion of a background investigation/fingerprint and/or physical exam may be required prior to employment. Desirable Qualifications B.A./B.S. or equivalent in Medical Technology, Laboratory Science, or related field. At least six (6) years experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist with proficiency in all laboratory disciplines. Prior supervisory or managerial experience.
