Banquet Captain

Key Responsibilities Supervise and assist with the setup, service, and clean‑up of all assigned banquet functions to ensure smooth operations Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to meet event specifications and guest expectations Oversee banquet staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of service and professionalism Monitor event progress and address any issues promptly to maintain quality standards Ensure compliance with safety, health, and alcohol regulations, including verifying proper alcohol service Communicate effectively with clients and team members to facilitate successful event execution Assist in training and mentoring new staff members as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet areas before, during, and after events Skills and Qualifications At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related hospitality field High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is helpful Previous supervisory experience preferred Valid Alcohol Awareness Certification in accordance with state regulations Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively Strong decision‑making skills, capable of evaluating and selecting among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately Ability to work well under pressure and handle stressful situations with professionalism Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to job responsibilities Strong oral communication skills and a customer/client‑oriented mindset Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays We pride ourselves on fostering a positive work environment that values teamwork, professionalism, and growth.
