The Direct Care Worker plays a vital role in supporting the daily living and well-being of patients by providing compassionate personal care and assistance. This position focuses on ensuring the comfort, safety, and emotional support of individuals under their care while collaborating closely with healthcare teams.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to patients, including hygiene and grooming assistance
- Monitor patient conditions and report changes promptly
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care activities
- Offer emotional support and encouragement to patients
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers
- Ensure a safe environment and monitor for potential hazards
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate patient care
- Administer basic first aid as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience in direct care
