Licensed Practical Nurse FT Days - UCHC SWSP Multiple Vacancies University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), operating under Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, provides comprehensive health services to individuals in the criminal justice system. The Licensed Practical Nurse position is located in South Woods State Prison, Bridgeton, NJ. Job Summary The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for delivering high‑quality patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Duties include administering treatments, participating in data collection, and ensuring compliance with state and federal standards. Participates in data collection related to the patients’ status and needs. Provides input to Registered Nurse for incorporation into the plan of care by communicating information pertinent to the patient’s status. Provides direct patient care within scope of practice to ensure implementation of the plan of care. Informs and instructs patients/significant others on patient’s health/illness state and plan of care. Assists patient/significant other in preparation for discharge and health maintenance in the home. Documents all aspects of patient care. Minimum Education and Experience Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program Certifications and Licenses Licensed Practical Nurse registration in the State of New Jersey CPR Certification Valid Driver’s License; possession of own vehicle or alternative transportation between sites is required Preferred Qualifications At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting Physical Demands The role requires the physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes and to assist in lifting and rotating patients up to 50 pounds.
