Senior Director, Commercial Strategy and Operations

Establish clear strategic priorities and drive execution effectiveness across the Biogen North America Organization Identify and prioritize initiatives involving strategy, innovation, processes, systems, and tools Partner with the Office of the President of North America and report to the Head of Strategic Operations and Portfolio for North America Lead through influence and build collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders Lead complex cross-functional teams and provide matrixed leadership to the broader US Organization as needed Identify, develop, and implement BNA strategic priorities Lead multi-year BNA strategy development and annual strategy refresh with the BNA Leadership Team Coordinate strategic initiatives across BNA to leverage synergies and avoid duplication Drive strategic initiatives and provide thought leadership and advice Support preparation for Board and EC-level business reviews and communications Establish and update BNA Governance Operating Rhythm, supporting the BNA Leadership Team and BNA Operating Committee Optimize the BNA annual strategic planning cycle, including AOP and ICP, with FP&A and business franchises Identify strategic and operational opportunities across the BNA organization Improve business practices and processes to maximize resources and achieve operational excellence Develop and implement processes to capture, catalog, analyze, and disseminate lessons learned and best practices Liaise with Global PDCs and lead new product commercialization for BNA pipeline and Business Development assets Build new product commercialization capabilities in North America with key organizational functions Manage late-stage BNA pipeline programs and coordinate launch readiness through BNA Launch Operations Teams Support integration of potential M&A deals into the BNA business Requirements Bachelor’s degree required Masters/MBA or other advanced educational achievement preferred 12+ years of experience leading large/complex programs and initiatives Commercial functional knowledge Pharma commercial experience required Ability to lead and influence in the matrix Excellent interpersonal skills/highly collaborative Understanding of Biogen culture, organizational structure, and processes Ability to cultivate strong internal/external networks Strong operational skills Project/timeline management capabilities Effective stakeholder management and problem-solving skills Previous Strategy Consulting in Pharma strongly preferred Previous Commercial or Marketing Experience preferred Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in strategic planning and execution within the pharmaceutical industry, with a strong focus on operational excellence and stakeholder management.
