Job Opportunity – Physician Assistant / Acute Care Nurse Practitioner – Cardiothoracic Surgery – Arizona

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Location: Arizona

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 4 days per month, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM plus on-call coverage 3:00 PM – 7:00 AM; includes weekend and holiday call rotation; 24-hour call shifts as scheduled

Highlights:

• Work alongside experienced cardiothoracic surgeons in a 199-bed acute care hospital
• Manage 10-15 CVICU and step-down patients daily, plus assist with 1-2 surgical cases
• Perform specialized procedures including temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
• EMR system: Cerner with mandatory paid remote training provided
• Adult and geriatric patient population in a dedicated CT Surgery department
• Comprehensive orientation program with phased training and call responsibilities

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of recent cardiothoracic surgery experience required
• Proficiency with Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) required
• Graduate from NCCPA-approved Physician Assistant program OR Master's Degree in Nursing from an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program
• PA: Current or eligible Arizona PA license; NCCPA certification or certification eligible
• NP: Current unrestricted Arizona APRN license; completion of RN/NP First Assistant Program; Medical Surgical or NP ANCC or AANP certification
• Current BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications required
• DEA registration required
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Credentialing must be completed within 30 days
