The Opportunity

You will serve as a trusted building products expert, guiding contractors and homeowners through custom door, window, and trim selections. This role empowers you to drive sales growth and manage projects end-to-end for a highly respected local industry leader. You will combine design expertise and technical knowledge to deliver exceptional results on challenging custom projects.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Drive retail and contractor sales growth by providing expert design recommendations, reading blueprints, and generating accurate project quotes.
• Develop professional sales orders, purchase orders, and illustration renditions via PowerPoint or AI to set clear project expectations for clients.
• Build strong relationships with residential builders and their clients through proactive cross-selling and cross-communication.
• Conduct site visits to validate project specifications, verify site measurements, and execute necessary sales order adjustments.
• Manage procurement activities, track project inventory, and negotiate favorable supply terms to protect company target margins.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, and physical inventory activities to guarantee on-time material delivery and flawless job execution.
• Collaborate with internal warehouse, buying, and management teams to resolve supplier discrepancies and maintain seamless operations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building supply sales with specialized knowledge of doors, windows, stair parts, and moldings.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, legal contracts, and complex project specifications.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), QuickBooks, central network drives, and quoting software.
• Solid mathematical aptitude with proven experience calculating margins, discounts, percentages, and construction measurements using tape measures.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently and perform occasional site visits across varying weather conditions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of maintaining high integrity and professional standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Experience working within operational, warehouse, or inventory control disciplines in the building products sector.
• Previous experience managing vendor negotiations, contract reviews, and supplier grievance resolutions.
