Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives as a full-time Adaptive Physical Education Teacher serving schools in the Concord area. This contract opportunity runs through the end of May 2028 and focuses on delivering quality adaptive PE instruction tailored to students with disabilities, supporting both their physical and educational growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited education program required
• Current and valid North Carolina DPI Physical Education certification (screenshot of licensure/certification must be provided)
• Prior experience working with students with disabilities or in an adaptive physical education setting preferred
• In-depth understanding of modifying activities for diverse physical, cognitive, behavioral, and developmental needs
• Flexibility to travel between multiple school sites as needed
• Proficiency in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams—including special education staff, related service providers, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver adaptive PE instruction aligned to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study
• Develop and modify lesson plans based on student abilities, needs, and IEP goals
• Assess, track, and document student progress towards physical and developmental benchmarks
• Use evidence-based strategies to promote engagement, inclusion, and safety
• Implement positive classroom management and support student behavior
• Communicate regularly with families and staff to foster a supportive learning environment
• Take part in professional development and uphold district policies
• Supervise students and ensure all activities are accessible and appropriately adapted

This role is compensated at $66 per hour , reflecting your experience and expertise.
