Job Details - Level: Experienced Job Location: El Paso Children’s Hospital - El Paso, TX 79905 Position Type: PRN Education Level: Graduate Degree Travel Percentage: None Job Shift: Rotating Job Category: Health Care Position Summary Prepares and dispenses medications to patients. Assesses the appropriateness of the physician's medication orders. Provides accurate and appropriate drug information to health care professionals. Coordinates or performs functions detailed in the compounding and dispensing procedures. Provides care to patients of varying ages with age related needs. Minimum Position Requirements No previous work experience required. One (1) or more years work experience in a Pediatric Hospital preferred. License/Registration/Certification Current Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Texas. Current Sterile Compounding Certification (ACPE approved) or letter from an accredited school of pharmacy confirming Sterile Compounding Certification with a minimum 20 hours of training completed. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 6 months of hire; for existing employees, within 6 months of signing job description. Education and Training Graduation from accredited School of Pharmacy. 12 hours of ACPE approved continuing education per year. Required Skills Knowledge and experience with UD, I.V. additives and therapeutics. Knowledge of law, regulations, and accreditation standards related to the distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs and pharmacy security. Advanced computer skills.
