Material Handler IIThe Material Handler II performs advanced warehouse functions utilizing powered material handling equipment to support efficient product flow throughout the Distribution Center. This position demonstrates strong operational knowledge and the ability to work across multiple functional areas.Role and ResponsibilitiesSort donations and merchandise into designated commodity streams in accordance with current operating procedures.Process, stack, palletize, and prepare merchandise and recyclable materials for storage, shipment, or sale.Safely operate:Manual pallet jacksTippersTrash compactorsVertical balersMax-Pak horizontal balersLoad tippers, balers, and compactors safely and efficiently.Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.Inspect assigned equipment prior to use and report maintenance or safety concerns.Follow all Goodwill Central Texas safety policies and Standard Operating Procedures.Accurately report accidents, incidents, hazards, or damaged equipment.Work collaboratively with leadership and peers to support daily production goals.Maintain a professional image when interacting with customers, donors, and team members.Safely operate electric walking and riding pallet jacks.Transport palletized merchandise and recyclable materials throughout the Distribution Center.Support efficient workflow between warehouse, dock, and outlet operations.Cross-train in multiple operational functions to maximize workforce flexibility.Required Skills & QualificationsSuccessful completion of Material Handler II training requirements.Certification to operate electric walking and riding pallet jacks.Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and safety standards.Demonstrated safe work performance and satisfactory attendance.High School diploma or equivalent preferred.Previous warehouse, manufacturing, recycling, or distribution experience preferred.Ability to obtain internal equipment certifications within required timeframes.Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions.Ability to meet production and quality expectations.Strong attendance and reliability.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift 50 lbs as needed and walk warehouse floors and outdoor lots.Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, or crouching in operational areas.Exposure to dust, heat/cold and outdoor work areas.Must be able to safely navigate GCT outlet and post-retail facilities.Key CompetenciesCommitment to workplace safety.Reliability and accountability.Attention to detail.Teamwork and collaboration.Adaptability and willingness to learn.Time management and productivity.Quality-focused work habits.Professionalism and respect.Commitment to Goodwill Central Texas' mission and values.Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:Goodwill Central Texas is an equal opportunity employer.
