2nd Shift Operations Supervisor

Location: Batavia, NY Salary: $75,000.00 USD Annually - $90,000.00 USD Annually Position Summary We are seeking a 2nd Shift Operations Supervisor for the evening shift to lead a union workforce, oversee shift operations, and maintain strict safety, food quality, and efficiency standards in a fast-paced plant environment. Shift Evening Shift (4:00 PM – 1:00 AM; 9-hour shifts). Must have weekend availability to support 24/7 facility operations. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and assign work to hourly union personnel under the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA); resolve conflicts and investigate incidents. Operations & Quality: Execute daily shift plans, drive process improvements using root cause analysis, and maintain work instructions and SOPs. Compliance & Safety: Enforce safety and food security standards in compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and internal policies. Cross-Functional Communication: Collaborate with Maintenance, QA, HR, Material Handling, and Finance to resolve issues and streamline workflow. Departmental Support: Back up other Operations Supervisors as needed. Requirements Experience: Minimum 5 years of direct manufacturing supervisory experience/training; experience with high-volume, automated processing equipment. (Union environment experience preferred). Industry Knowledge: Background in food and/or dairy processing preferred. Technical Skill: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), process improvement tools, and root cause analysis. Education: Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
