Vice President of Operations

Overview Warren Averett is currently assisting a client in the Tuscaloosa area in their search for a seasoned Vice President of Operations to lead and oversee core operational functions. This role is responsible for driving strategic growth, operational efficiency, and profitability while managing day-to-day activities across claims processing, eligibility, billing, and customer service. Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of eligibility, billing, and claims programs Manage implementation of new clients, plans, and reporting structures Identify and resolve operational and system-related issues Design and implement automation procedures and serve as IT liaison Ensure compliance with billing, credentialing, and reporting standards Oversee claims adjustments, appeals, and electronic submissions Lead performance monitoring and reporting across departments Develop and enforce policies to ensure safe and efficient operations Serve as a liaison with providers, payers, and internal departments Supervisory Scope Directly manage multiple department leaders across Claims, Imaging, CSR, Eligibility, and Billing Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and policy adherence Maintain departmental SOPs and uphold processing integrity standards Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in operations or healthcare administration Proven leadership in claims operations and customer service environments Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare systems (IBM iSeries, Genelco Group+) Ability to travel occasionally and manage high-level operational demands Warren Averett is an equal opportunity employer.
