Neuroscience Unit NurseShift: Three 12-hour shifts – Weekend Days (Fri, Sat, Sun)Work Arrangement: On-SiteDepartment: NeuroscienceFacility: University Hospital – 1 Hospital Drive, Columbia, MOCompensation:· Base Pay Range: $34.46 - $51.02 per hour, based on experience· Shift Differentials:o Additional $2.75 per hour for weekday evening shifto Additional $4.00 per hour for weekday night shifto Additional $8.00 per hour for weekend day shifto Additional $10.75 per hour for weekend evening shifto Additional $12.00 per hour for weekend night shift· Retention Rewards:o Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000§ Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away§ Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000§ Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000o Note: Details will be provided during the HR interview. Policy language is available upon request.About NeuroscienceOn the Neuroscience unit, we provide specialized care for patients with complex neurological conditions, including hemorrhagic bleeds, ischemic strokes, neurosurgical cases (such as craniotomy and spinal procedures), and seizure disorders.This unit offers a unique focus on EMU (Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) patients who stay for continuous EEG monitoring to evaluate and manage seizures. During this period, patients are closely monitored by EEG technicians and the Neurology team as they undergo seizure evaluation, helping to identify seizure types and origins for targeted treatment strategies.About The JobMU Health Care is looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our nursing team. Utilizes an appropriate tool for assessment and reassessment (0-10 numerical scale, FACES, or the FLACC.)· Demonstrates an understanding of medications regarding action and side effects. Reports pertinent information to the appropriate individual. Educates patients and significant others about their medications.· Demonstrates the ability to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions in accomplishing goals and intended patient care outcomes.· Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement the policies and procedures of the hospital and assigned nursing unit.· Participates in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups. Understands the attendance and punctuality guidelines, and adherence to the dress code.· Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person and records those observations accurately and concisely.· Provides quality patient care and works with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.· May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.Required Qualifications· Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.· One (1) year of RN experience.Preferred Qualifications· Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
