The shift schedule is a day shift consisting of 3 twelve-hour shifts. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery. Candidates must have a valid state license and appropriate nursing certifications. Weekend shifts are required, typically every other weekend. The nurse may need to float to other units as necessary. Call may be required depending on patient census. Experience with various nursing skills specific to labor and delivery is essential. Travelers are expected to float between nearby facilities if required. Attendance for a specified number of holidays is also expected. Flexibility in scheduling is important to meet the needs of the facility.
