About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Ability to provide care in a fast-paced medical/surgical/telemetry environment - Experience in accessing/managing ports - Proficient in administering blood products - Familiarity with central line management and telemetry monitoring Description: This position requires a skilled registered nurse with experience in medical/surgical/telemetry. The nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care for adult patients. Every other weekend is required. The nurse will work with an average patient ratio of 6:1. The role includes duties such as interpreting dysrhythmias and managing patients on BiPAP/CPAP. The nurse will be expected to perform phlebotomy, IV starts, and care for surgical drains. Administration of medication including insulin and heparin is required. The nurse should be comfortable with wound care and use of rapid response/code teams. Basic knowledge of high flow nasal cannula usage is necessary. Prior experience with telemetry monitoring is essential. Strong interpersonal skills for effective patient and team communication are a must. The role may require brief orientation to the unit before starting. Travelers may be required to float to like units as needed. Team support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
