Position Summary

This is a full‑time (4 x 10‑hour shift per week) inpatient pharmacist position. The pharmacist will be cross‑trained to additional clinical areas as scheduling and staff skills align. Scheduled shift times may vary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient medications to identify possible medication therapy problems.
• Serve as Interventional Pharmacist in accordance with Pharmacy Practice Guidelines.
• Supervise or prepare intravenous admixture solutions according to physician orders.
• Check work of technical staff for accuracy.
• Understand emergency drugs and thrombolytic therapy (including continuous infusion, normal dilution, dose and monitoring during infusion).
• Respond to Code Blues, Traumas, STEMI's, and Rapid Sequence Intubations in the ED and throughout the hospital. Prepare prescribed medications, including compounded formulations and IVs.
• Evaluate cultures and sensitivities and make antimicrobial recommendations to physicians as appropriate.
• Provide drug information to physicians, nurses, and patients.
• Supervise ED Certified Pharmacy Technicians by utilizing good team‑building skills to unite ED Pharmacy staff around common goals and generate greater productivity.

Requirements

• Pharm D or Bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
• 3–5 years of institutional experience preferred, but not required.
• Licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of Ohio.
• Analytic ability to determine drug appropriateness and evaluate drug instructions.
• Ability to provide care for a neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population.
• PALS and ACLS Certification preferred (opportunity to obtain this post‑employment will be provided if needed).
• LMHS is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
