Security and Safety Officer

Employment Details Employment Type: Full time Shift: Night Shift (10:00pm – 6:30am) Responsibilities Patrol the Medical Center campus and its buildings to deter crime, prevent loss and promote a safe environment. Provide and maintain a security presence at the main entrances of various buildings on campus to control access, provide directions, assistance, and prevent loss. Gather information for and complete various reports to document incidents and events on the campus. Perform traffic and crowd control on the campus to control access and direct the flow of both pedestrian and vehicle traffic. Assist the Parking Department in achieving their goals by providing motorist assistance and parking control. Assist the Safety Department in achieving their goals by providing fire and chemical safety services. Perform security and service‑related duties as assigned to promote loss and crime prevention and service excellence. May be required to be on‑call for emergencies and as needed on occasional evenings/weekends for security needs. Qualifications High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education. Degree(s): Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Security Administration, Fire Services or related field. Associate’s degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education; 1‑2 years of previous job‑related experience. Valid Illinois driver’s license.
