Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical

Location

Fargo, ND | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Holiday | Expected 36–48 hours/week | Overtime may be available after 48 hours

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and develop individualized care plans with thorough documentation
• Administer medications via a variety of routes and provide wound, line, and drain care
• Utilize facility equipment including Epic EMR, Accudose Rx, Alaris IV pumps, and Philips vitals machines
• Float within the Med-Surg cluster across multiple campuses, covering specialty units including oncology, cardiac, neuro, trauma med-surg, observation, medical behavioral, and innovations
• Call in daily to confirm unit assignment for each shift; nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:4–5 (days/evenings) to 1:5–6 (nights)
• Badge in and out at the facility for every shift; wear Navy Blue scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Active North Dakota RN license or Compact state RN license
• BLS certification – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical experience in a high-volume hospital with 200+ beds
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience working in a Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Willingness to float within the Med-Surg cluster and between campuses
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living 60–80 miles from the facility may be subject to a local travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous float pool or resource pool experience strongly preferred
• Experience in a fast-paced hospital environment with 250+ beds
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers may be considered if primary experience is in a resource or float pool setting)
