Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to manage day-to-day financial operations and month-end reporting for a diverse portfolio of entities, including land development partnerships and operating companies. This role reports directly to the Controller and is essential for maintaining the integrity of our multi-company financial structure. Previous experience in the construction industry is required. Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle Accounting: Oversee accounts payable (including annual 1099 reporting), accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for various LPs and LLCs.

• Cost Management: Handle job cost accounting and facilitate construction loan draw requests.

• Reconciliations: Conduct thorough analysis of the general ledger and manage the amortization of prepaid expenses.

• Operational Support: Assist the Controller with departmental tasks and other administrative priorities as they arise.

• Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience in a multi-company environment utilizing computerized accounting systems.

• Industry Knowledge: Background in job cost accounting is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in residential land development, homebuilding, or heavy civil construction (excavation, utilities, or paving).

• Familiarity with  Trimble Spectrum software is considered a significant advantage.
