PC LAN Specialist II

Job Purpose

A PC LAN Specialist II provides desktop and user-level technical support for PCs, laptops, printers, and related equipment. Diagnoses and resolves hardware and software issues, installs and maintains technology assets, and assists with inventory tracking and departmental projects under the supervision of senior technical staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve IT support requests through the helpdesk system
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral issues
• Install and configure computer equipment and software
• Escalate complex issues as appropriate
• Provide professional customer support in person, by phone, and email
• Maintain equipment inventory and assist with supply tracking

Job Specifications and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least one year of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Associate's degree in a related field preferred
• Working knowledge of computer systems and troubleshooting
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Valid South Carolina Driver's License

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically require fingering, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
