Job description

Title: Embedded Software Developer

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Developer to develop and support real-time embedded software solutions for aerospace and avionics applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in DO-178 compliant software development, embedded programming, and avionics communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop embedded software based on low-level software requirements.
Build, test, and deploy real-time embedded software for target hardware platforms.
Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
Troubleshoot software issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams on resolutions.
Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical leadership activities .

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
10+ years of experience in embedded software development.
Strong knowledge and application of DO-178B/DO-178C standards.
Proficiency in C, C++, and Python programming languages.
Experience with real-time embedded systems and object-oriented software design.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of ARINC 429, ARINC 618, VDL Mode 2, TCP/IP, and ATN OSI protocols.
Experience with aerospace or avionics software development.
Understanding of aircrew Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design principles.
Strong system integration, testing, and debugging experience.
Demonstrated technical leadership and customer-facing experience.
